6 Days Tanzania Tented Lodge Safari Great Migration
OVERVIEW
This 6-day Tanzania tented lodge safari takes you through some of the most incredible wildlife destinations, including Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Witness the breathtaking Great Migration, see the Big Five, and enjoy comfortable stays in well-selected tented lodges. This journey offers a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation while exploring Tanzania’s natural beauty.
After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species. Enjoy a game drive along the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts animals throughout the year. In the evening, settle into a comfortable tented lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, drive towards the famous Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the endless plains of the Serengeti. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of predators like cheetahs and lions, as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Dinner and overnight stay in a tented lodge within the park.
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, following the herds of the Great Migration. Depending on the season, witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing rivers or moving across the open plains. Along the way, spot predators lurking nearby, waiting for an opportunity to strike. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing the adventure. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Start the day with an early morning game drive to catch predators in action before they retreat from the sun. After breakfast, drive towards Ngorongoro, with stops for wildlife viewing along the way. Arrive at your tented lodge near the crater rim, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning views.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive in one of the world’s most unique wildlife habitats. The crater floor is home to elephants, lions, buffalos, and the rare black rhino. The landscape varies from grasslands to swamps and soda lakes, creating an ideal environment for different species. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before heading back to the lodge for dinner.
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your safari. Depending on your schedule, a transfer to the airport can be arranged.
