10-Day Southern Circuit Group Safari in Tanzania
OVERVIEW
Experience 10 action-packed days in Nyerere, Mikumi, Ruaha National Park and Udzungwa Mountains. Take part in an exciting boat safari and enjoy memorable adventures on full-day game drives in Nyerere National Park. Participate in a walking safari and the big 4 and big cats in sightings, crocodiles, zebras, impalas and many others in Ruaha and Mikumi National Parks. Enjoy hiking trails, bird and monkey watching in Udzungwa Mountains National Park.
After breakfast, You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive to Nyerere National Park with a lunch stop at a restaurant in Kibiti. Take a short break then proceed with the drive. Arrive in the afternoon and check in at the camp. Then leave for an evening boat drive at Rufiji River. Return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay are at Africa Safari
Selous.
After breakfast in the morning, enjoy a full-day game drive by a modified safari vehicle with a professional guide. Great animal sightings include all the great favorites lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and all the other major species including the now-rare African hunting dog. You will also see a large variety of birds and wonderful scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains, in the afternoon packed lunch and have some time to rest. Your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink. In the evening, you will head back to the lodge for a delicious sunset dinner when you’re ready and then retire for the night.
Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park After breakfast, you will drive to Mikumi National Park. Whilst on safari, you will see a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeests, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, elands, antelopes, giraffes, buffalo and elephants. If you are lucky, you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day and dinner and your
overnight stay are at the lodge.
Game Drive in Mikumi National Park Enjoy a full day of game drive in Mikumi National Park. You will eat a picnic lunch at midday and get the chance to see some of what you missed on the first day in the park. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Camp Bastian Mikumi, which is located about thirty minutes outside the gate to the park.
Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Today, you will depart for Udzungwa Mountain National Park, arriving in the afternoon. Take part in a half day of hiking and bird watching in the pristine rainforest. Later, you will trek toward the Sanje Waterfalls for spectacular views of the wide Kilombero Valley. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian Mikumi.
After breakfast, learn early in the morning from the camp and drive to Ruaha National Park which is 274km with lunch boxes via Iringa town. You will be passing through the countryside and have nice scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains. After your arrival, you will go directly to the park and enjoy an afternoon game drive then drive to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast in the morning with packed lunches, drive to the park for full-day game drives. Enjoy a nice view of Ruaha River Valley and great animal sightings like kudus, wildebeests, elephants, zebras, lions, hippos, hartebeests, impalas, antelopes, giraffes, and buffalo. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.
After breakfast, with your lunch boxes experience extensive game drives in Ruaha National Park in order to explore its topography and wildlife. Ruaha is the second-largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River, which flows along its entire eastern border, creates spectacular gorges and scenery and features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. Special animals that inhabit the park include both the greater and lesser kudus and the roan and sable antelopes. Birdlife is also rich, with over 370 species recorded. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.
Ruaha Walking Safari
After breakfast, we will depart the lodge and spend another half-day enjoying game drives and walking safaris in Ruaha National Park. You will eat a picnic lunch at midday and take time to visit sites you didn’t get to see the other day. Later, start driving back to Mikumi for dinner and your overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi.
After an early breakfast, drive from the lodge with the packed lunches. You will drive back to Dar es Salaam. You will get a chance to spot/see animals since you’re passing through Mikumi National Park while departing to Dar es Salaam,
